What’s the timeline for SAP Accelerators’ de-release and which elements will be affected?
SAP has announced critical dates for the deletion and end of support for these deprecated extensions and add-ons:
Q2 2027: The final Commerce Cloud update release containing deprecated Accelerator UI extensions and addons will be released.
Q3 2027: The first Commerce Cloud update release that does NOT contain these deprecated elements will be released. Upgrading to this release without modification will likely break your build.
Q3 2028: Support for deprecated Accelerator UI extensions and addons ends for the Q2 2027 update release. After this date, new builds attempting to use the Q2 2027 update release will fail.
Why the change?
The Accelerator UI extensions and addons, deprecated since Commerce Cloud 2205 (May 2022), are legacy, JSP-based frontends. They are being removed to pave the way for modern, flexible, and scalable commerce solutions.
SAP's recommended strategy for all commerce customers is headless commerce (or decoupled commerce):

Who will be affected by the end of support?
The change impacts ALL Accelerator-based storefronts, including Industry Accelerators (Telco & Utilities, Travel, Financial Services, Citizen Engagement, etc.).
While live storefronts will continue to function, any future updates, new features, or even bug fixes will require significant modifications or a complete overhaul if you remain on the deprecated architecture.
Can I keep using accelerators?
While you can continue to use Accelerator-based storefronts after Q3 2027 with custom modifications and full ownership of the deprecated code, SAP makes no guarantee that new functionality or future updates will work with this legacy approach.
Instead, you can keep SAP as your ecommerce backend and implement a headless frontend with trusted solutions, like Alokai .

Customers currently using Accelerator-based storefronts should decide now whether to:
